New Opportunity to Guide CE Selection
During the 2016-2017 renewal period, the Board of Certification (BOC) conducted the Portfolio Pilot that was completed by over 450 Athletic Trainers (ATs). The analysis of this pilot resulted in recommendations to the BOC Board of Directors to move forward with offering a similar tool to create a culture shift from collecting continuing education units (CEUs) to a mindful, intentional selection of professional development activities purposely designed to maintain competence and promote professional growth. This new tool called the Professional Goals Appraisal (PGA), will provide ATs with the necessary resources and information to assess professional needs and choose activities that will enhance clinical competence and knowledge.
The BOC will be conducting a soft launch of the PGA in March 2020. ATs must pre register and participation will be limited to the first 2,500 ATs. Pre registration opens December 2, 2019 at 9 a.m. CST and will close once we reach capacity. To pre-register, click the button below when pre-registration opens. Be sure to keep this email if you plan to participate. Log into your BOC Central profile to register.
