The BOC has the same mission as state regulatory boards and agencies, to protect the public. We welcome the opportunity to assist in efforts to regulate Athletic Trainers (ATs) as effectively and efficiently as possible.
One service available to state regulators is having a BOC representative assist or participate in board or agency meetings when there are topics on the agenda related to the BOC.
The BOC can also provide important data that can be extremely helpful to decision-makers during meetings. The following types of data are available to state regulators.
- Definitions by state
- State comparison data (fees, requirements, exam, etc.)
- Board types by state
- Exam and education requirements by state
- Continuing education and renewal requirements by state
- BOC exam reports
- Sample practice/physician protocols
Make sure you stay current on information from the BOC. As new information becomes available, we will often suggest agenda items to cover in your next board or agency meeting. The BOC is here to partner with you in protecting the public effectively and efficiently. If you need the BOC's support or would like a BOC representative to participate in your next board meeting, please contact Shannon at ShannonF@bocatc.org.
