New Corporate/Educator Director Named to BOC Board
The Board of Certification (BOC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Brian Conway, LAT, ATC, as the new corporate/educator director for the BOC Board of Directors. Conway will take office in July completing a vacated term, and then serve a full three-year term beginning in 2024.
Conway is currently senior administrator for Kansas Team Health with the University of Kansas Health System and is the current chair of Kansas Athletic Trainers Society Symposium Committee.
Formerly, Conway was a BOC exam site administrator in Texas from 1994-2006. In addition, he served as a member on the Board of Directors for the National Athletic Trainers’ Association (NATA) from 2006-2012 and was an NATA Foundation board member from 2013-2021. During his tenure at the NATA Foundation, he served as president from 2017-2021, as well as an at large member, a District 6 representative and vice president of finance. He was a member of the Executive Committee for the Armed Forces Bowl from 2006-2013. For more than 20 years, Conway was a District 6 board representative for the Southwest Athletic Trainers’ Association.
“I look forward to joining the BOC Board of Directors in the role of corporate/educator director, working to forward the Mission, Vision and Values of this critical organization,” said Conway. “I promise to collaborate with my fellow board members to make decisions in the best interest of the organization, while protecting the public and supporting the advancement of the athletic training profession. My experience on oversight boards within and outside the profession provides me with a well-rounded perspective that I hope is valuable as I perform my duties for the BOC.”
Conway was appointed by the BOC Board of Directors following a nomination process guided by the Nominating Committee.
