About Joint Accreditation
Joint Accreditation for Interprofessional Continuing Education™ provides one pathway for organizations to offer continuing education across multiple health care professions (e.g. athletic trainers, dentists, dietitians, nurses, optometrists, physician assistants, pharmacists, physicians, psychologists and social workers) through one application, one fee, and one set of standards. It remains the first and only process in the world to offer this unified approach.
Joint Accreditation is a collaboration of:
- Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME)
- Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE)
- American Academy of PAs (AAPA)
- American Dental Association’s Continuing Education Recognition Program (ADA CERP)
- American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC)
- American Psychological Association (APA)
- Association of Regulatory Boards of Optometry’s Council on Optometric Practitioner Education (ARBO/COPE)
- Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB)
- Board of Certification for the Athletic Trainer (BOC)
- Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR)
Through interprofessional continuing education (IPCE), Joint Accreditation supports collaboration across health care professions to improve care delivery and patient outcomes. Jointly accredited providers also benefit from a proven model of team-based education and practice.
