Making CE More Intentional with CPC Renewal – Powered by Pathfinder

Athletic Trainers (ATs) are beginning to experience the benefits of the new Continuing Professional Certification (CPC) Renewal reporting process and the Pathfinder platform, designed to make continuing professional development more personalized and meaningful.

Through Pathfinder, Athletic Trainers (ATs) answer a short series of My Challenge Questions during each three-month segment that help identify areas of strength and opportunities for growth in their practice. The experience not only encourages reflection but also helps ATs select continuing education (CE) activities that are more tailored to their individual needs.

One AT recently shared how the approach is changing the way they think about CE:

“The new CPC Renewal reporting is helping me highlight areas of strength and room for growth in my practice. The questions help me stay current as standards of practice have changed and remind me of areas I may not have utilized in practice recently that I could use a refresher on. It’s intuitive and makes my CE more intentional. I especially like that the series of questions suggests CE relevant to a topic I may be struggling in. I think it is a positive for everyone: those that regularly space their CE out throughout the reporting cycle will be able to seamlessly add the series to their routine, and those that may tend to wait until late in the reporting period to do their CE will be frequently reminded to chip away at them while doing their question series.”

By guiding ATs toward learning opportunities aligned with their practice, CPC Renewal and Pathfinder help transform CE from a requirement into a more focused, ongoing learning experience.
