Streamlined CE Reporting for ATs

Athletic Trainers (ATs) can now experience a simpler, more efficient way to track continuing education (CE). The Board of Certification for the Athletic Trainer (BOC) is initiating a new service to automatically transfer and populate CE completion data. Sync-CE is initially being implemented with the National Athletic Trainers’ Association (NATA), transferring its CE into individual BOC profiles through timely, secure data exchanges.

As of May 4, all NATA-earned CE activities will be seamlessly added to an AT’s reporting form using Sync-CE, eliminating the need for manual entry. This enhancement is designed to reduce administrative burden, improve reporting accuracy and provide a more streamlined experience for ATs managing their CE requirements.

As part of this update, ATs will also receive notifications within their BOC CE Form when new CE activities are posted, ensuring they remain informed and up to date with minimal effort.

“This new service supports our continued focus on making certification maintenance as intuitive and efficient as possible,” said BOC CEO Anne Minton. “By working closely with NATA, we’re removing barriers and creating a more seamless experience that supports ATs in staying compliant while focusing on what matters most—delivering quality care. The new tool strengthens this effort by ensuring CE data is transferred securely and in a timely manner.”

This new functionality represents an important step forward in enhancing the usability and ease of CE reporting, reinforcing both organizations’ shared commitment to supporting ATs throughout their continuing professional certification journey.

“Collaboration with the BOC on Sync-CE reflects our shared commitment to making professional development as easy and valuable as possible for all ATs,” said NATA Executive Director Mollie Pillman. “Leveraging technology through this new process reduces administrative steps, improves reporting accuracy and helps NATA members get more time back in their day to spend on patient care. We’re proud to help deliver solutions that better support the profession and grateful to our partners at the BOC for making this possible.”
