2026 Brad Sherman Regulatory Conference: Best Practices in Action

The Board of Certification (BOC) will host the 2026 Brad Sherman Regulatory Conference, focused on best practices for athletic training regulation, August 20–21, 2026, at BOC Headquarters in Omaha, Nebraska. This in-depth program will explore regulatory best practices and emerging trends impacting the athletic training profession, equipping regulators and state leaders with strategies to develop initiatives and resolutions that protect the public.

Conference content will address key areas shaping today’s regulatory environment, including current approaches to state regulation, the growing influence of artificial intelligence in health care and oversight, and evolving scope of practice considerations. Attendees will also gain insight into the Athletic Training Compact and its potential impact, strategic planning for effective board operations and updates from across states and the BOC.

Additional focus areas include board governance and conduct, maintaining appropriate professional boundaries and the importance of wellness within both the athletic training and regulatory communities. The conference continues to serve as a valuable forum for sharing perspectives, strengthening collaboration and supporting effective regulation.
