BOC Approved Providers: How to Enhance Your Annual Report

Based on feedback from the 2024 annual report for BOC Approved Providers, several updates have been made to improve the reporting process. To prepare for your upcoming 2025 report—and future submissions—consider the following tips:
- Track Your CE Audience
- Record the total number of learners who participate in your organization’s CE activities during the year. Count every instance of participation, even if the same learner attends multiple activities.
- Track the number of Athletic Trainer learners separately from other health care professional learners.
- Monitor Changes to Align with the Standards
Ensure that you document any changes made to align your CE program with the “Standards for BOC Approved Providers”. Pay particular attention to updates in:
- Program content development and structure
- Learning assessment
- Facilities and faculty
- Programmatic evaluation
- Professional conduct
- Administration
- Conduct a Program Review and Improvement Cycle
- Annual Review: Set aside dedicated time each year to review and track your program’s effectiveness.
- Goal Tracking: Measure your organization’s progress toward previously set goals.
- Future Planning: Identify opportunities for improvement and set new SMART goals (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Time-bound) for the upcoming year.
- Reflect on the Past Year
Take time to consider successes, challenges and lessons learned. Reflection helps strengthen your program and ensures continued alignment with the standards.
