Learn, Connect and Grow at the 2026 ACCME Accreditation Workshop

For BOC Approved Providers looking to strengthen their continuing education programs, the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) Workshop 2026 offers valuable insights, practical tools and proven approaches.

The workshop will take place August 25–26, 2026, in Chicago, IL at The Westin Chicago River North. The event provides an essential professional development opportunity for individuals who are new to accredited continuing medical education (CME) or those seeking a deeper understanding of the accreditation process. Participants will explore ACCME’s requirements and expectations while learning how accredited continuing education (CE) can serve as a strategic tool for healthcare improvement.

What Participants Will Gain

The workshop includes several learning and networking opportunities designed to help CE professionals enhance their programs. Participants will receive:

• Face-to-face engagement with colleagues, faculty mentors and ACCME staff to develop strategies to advance their CE programs.
• Opportunities to collaborate with peers and ACCME staff on timely topics such as engaging learners, incorporating diversity, equity and inclusion in CE, faculty development, and integrating CME that counts toward Maintenance of Certification.
• In-depth exploration of the Standards for Integrity and Independence in Accredited Continuing Education, with guidance on meeting ACCME expectations.
• Resources and strategies to support educational programming, including approaches for engaging faculty, clinicians, and care teams.
• Tools to position CE as a strategic asset within an organization.
• Access to approximately three hours of self-directed online learning through the ACCME Academy covering key accreditation concepts and requirements.

Optional Pre-Conference Session

An optional Newcomers’ Orientation to Accredited CE will be offered on Monday, August 24, prior to the workshop. This session provides an overview of the ACCME accreditation system and explores the value of accredited CE for physicians and the public.
