Myth Versus Fact: BOC Exam Scheduling and Rescheduling

BOC candidates should “expect the unexpected” when scheduling their BOC exam. The BOC recommends that candidates schedule their BOC exam early in the two-week exam window to account for any unexpected circumstances.

Today, we would like to discuss some of the common myths that might prevent a BOC exam candidate from scheduling their exam earlier in the two-week exam window.

Myth 1: If I schedule my exam later in the exam window, I will get my exam results sooner.
Each exam window has a designated two-week period in which exam results become available and are posted. Scheduling your exam on the last day of the exam window doesn’t make your results come any sooner. Watch now to learn more about BOC exam scoring process and psychometrics model the BOC uses and how it affects the timing of delivering BOC exam results to candidates.
Myth 2: There is no extra fee to reschedule my BOC exam.
There is a rescheduling fee to reschedule a BOC exam during the same window or to move to a different exam window. Refer to the “Certification Exam Candidate Handbook” for detail and fees.
Myth 3: I can reschedule my exam at any time.
Candidates are only able to reschedule up to two business days prior to the scheduled exam. If you miss this deadline to reschedule, you will either need to sit for the exam or forfeit your fee.

Prior to scheduling your exam, consider these important facts and review the “Certification Exam Candidate Handbook” for all scheduling and rescheduling policies.
